First haircut

Kate had her first real haircut today (by real, I mean by someone other than me). We had a coupon for one of the glittery- hot pink kids places and Kate loved it. She also got a mani-pedi. Don't know who enjoyed it more- Kate or me :) Except I can't get over how BIG she looks!

Here is Kate counting to 21, complete with a bout of giggles in the middle:

Don't mess with Texas!

Hello!

We've been busy since November! I graduated from residency (yippee!!) and we spent two weeks in Colorado for Christmas before moving to Texas. Phew!

Here are some photos of moving into our new home:

First arriving

AHHHHHHHHH!  What a mess!!

It took us about a week and a half working from 7am-11pm very hard to get everything unpacked, organized and put away, but we did it!! Kate was a good little helper.

We were all exhausted!

I'll get some "finished" pictures, some Christmas pictures and I'll post about my new job later. I had been having so many requests for a post, I figured I needed to get something up!

We sure miss everyone in NC and CO!

Papa Craig's visit

Kate wearing both of her new dresses from Nana (Debbie).

My Dad was in town for my almost graduation banquet a few weeks ago. I won't actually be done until December because I did an extra clinical reseach program on top of the periodontology program, but they were nice enough to include me with the rest of my class at graduation.

I don't think I've ever posted any pics from school before, but here is our group of residents. Yes, I only own one cocktail dress and yes, it is in all the facebook photos...

Happy 2nd Birthday Kate!

Yesterday was Kate's 2nd birthday! I can't believe my baby is 2. We took it easy yesterday, after our crazy weekend. We plan to have a party in a few weeks to celebrate again!

Happy Birthday Kate!

I can't believe my little baby is 1 year old. She is walking and chattering in her own language and has been so happy the last few weeks. We were in CA for Val's wedding over Memorial Day and then we were in Seattle for Kate's first birthday on 9.7.08 (ignore the date stamp on the photos). Kate and I are quite the travelers! Kate has made 23 individual flights, nearly all of them we have done alone-without Daddy. I'm exhausted! Kate spent her first birthday with Nana, Great Nana, Papa Craig, Great Grandpa, GiGi, Great Uncle Mark, Great Aunt Judy, Brent, Ella and Lilly. She spent almost an hour climbing in and out of her stroller and laughing over and over again.

Today we had a party for Kate. Her friends Ryan, Addison, Mimi, Irene and Anthony and their moms and dads all came to our house.
Kate wasn't too interested in her first cake, but she loved the pizza!

7 months and crawling

Kate is a little over 7 months and crawling everywhere! She graduated from scooting to a hands and knees crawl on her 7mo birthday. Now she loves to head for the cat food and water, the fireplace and the kitchen floor. She also does the "monkey walk" where she gets around on her hands and feet with her little behind way up in the air. It is so cute! She can also pull herself up and stand on the edge of the toy bin, the coffee table and almost on the windowsil. I also discovered her standing in her crib this week, so we had to move it down so she won't jump out. However, she has no concept of balance, so she often lets go and falls all the way to the floor, "bonking" herself quite often. She likes to eat Teddy Puffs and banana, but still isn't fond of the spoon. She loves when you clap for her and cries when you take something away. Stella loves to rub against her face and Kate finds this hilarious. We are going to try to use cloth diapers now for a while--at home only. They just seem so much more comfortable. Aunt Beedoh was here last week and Kate had a bit of a cold, so she was kind of grouchy. Hopefully we didn't scare Beedoh away--we are hoping she will come be our nanny this summer! Kate's language skills are developing, too. She says "bababa, dadada and mum mum mum," but my favorite is panting in a somewhat panicked tone when she wants to nurse. We've recently been having a battle with bedtime which wasn't a problem before. She's been getting some late naps, which I suspect is the cause. Recently she has been up until 10:30 or 11pm--past my bedtime!!

School is going well for me. I have two implants and two GTRs coming up and it is fun to have more surgery appointments. My research was contingintly approved by the IRB this week, so I just have to make a few minor changes to my forms and that will be ready to go, too.

Loren is hoping to go windsurfing this afternoon, but there is little wind. It has been beautiful weather here!
