Happy 3rd Birthday Kate!

It sounds so cliche, but I can't believe my baby is 3 years old today! She is so beautiful and such a wonderful little girl. As I was putting her to bed tonight I was thinking about how I was in labor 3 years ago at that same time. I could never have imagined the amazing little sweet voice that said "I love you Mommy" as I put her to bed. I am so blessed and so pleased to get to be her mom!

Maybe my favorite outfit ever...

Some of you have heard me talk about my favorite outfit ever...the black and white flower top with zebra pants. Yes, here it is:

Note the red toenails. Kate insists that this outfit matches because both pieces are black and white.

And here are some Easter photos. Sorry for being so late!! We went to a friends' home from church.

2nd Birthday Party

We had Kate's 2nd birthday party on Sept. 19, it was a great time! We did a pasta bar, with several kinds of pasta and sauces to choose from. Beedoh was the fantastic cook and ran all 4 of our burners at the same time to get the pasta all ready at the same time. It was a big hit! We had chocolate cake with pink frosting and sprinkles, by request and ice cream and cookies- also by request. Kate had been talking about having cookies at her birthday party for weeks. The cake was much more of a success with Kate this year than last year! Kate had 5 other kids and their parents come, plus a few of our friends and neighbors. We did one game- fishing. It was so nice to have Aunt Beedoh in town to celebrate with us! Kate misses both Annie and Aunt Beedoh who were each with us for a week while Kate's babysitter was on vacation.
I love the action and personalities in this photo! Kate's friends left to right: Baylie, Sophia, Ryan, Kate , Irene

Beedoh's wedding preview!

We are totally and completely exhausted. Beedoh's wedding was absolutely beautiful and a huge success! But we are tired. We were in Iowa City from Wednesday to Sunday and was pretty well behaved the whole time. She made it down the aisle--under Mommy's skirt, and vocally wished Beedoh "Happy Birthday Aunt Beedoh" throughout the ceremony. She was a dancing machine at the reception! We all had so much fun. I'm going to post just a few photos, but will do more later.

Happy Easter!

We had a nice Easter weekend. We worked in the church nursery with 17 one year olds! And the big news: Kate let me do her hair!! and it lasted all day long! I am thrilled:)

Kate is talking using "I" now- "I running!" "I swimming!" "I get it!" "I do it" They are the sweetest little phrases I've ever heard. The phrase she uses most is "shoe back on"

She likes to tie her hair up in ribbons and bows...

Ok, so maybe it is a little bit of a stretch, but I managed to put a barrette in Kate's hair for the first time last week. At six months, she is still a little thin on top, but there is more every day! She has also begun scooting around on her tummy like a little inchworm. Stella is no longer safe...we are enjoying the beautiful spring weather and spring flowers that are blooming everywhere. My mom and dad and Alex were visiting last week for Kate's baptism which went very well. She really wanted to jump in to the water, though! Maybe she wishes she were a Baptist:) I'm hoping to take her to a swimming pool over spring break.
