Weekend in Charlotte

Two weekends ago we headed down to Charlotte to visit some good friends and to spend a night at Great Wolf indoor water park. It was so much fun! Thanks Hermansens!

Kate did this huge waterslide all by herself! She was so brave. And she loved it!

These are the pettiskirts I made for the 3 girls. Whew! These took FOREVER. More than 170 yards of pink chiffon...that is almost 2 football fields! Kate loves hanging out with the big girls and they are so good with her!
Check out this cool backyard!

This is one sleepy little girl! Kate was totally exhausted at the end of the weekend.

Maybe my favorite outfit ever...

Some of you have heard me talk about my favorite outfit ever...the black and white flower top with zebra pants. Yes, here it is:

Note the red toenails. Kate insists that this outfit matches because both pieces are black and white.

And here are some Easter photos. Sorry for being so late!! We went to a friends' home from church.

More from the Kate style archives...some accessories

Kate is now in to...
What's that fancy word? Oh yes, some accessories! (that's from Kate's book Fancy Nancy for those of you who aren't familliar)

Notice the shoes, purse and bracelet
...and of course, the latest bad habit- nail biting! Any one have suggestions on how to stop it? I bought some of the "yucky stuff" to paint on her nails, but it says if it is ingested to call poison control, so I wasn't really very excited to paint it on her fingers, knowing they will go into her mouth. We've tried nail polish with no luck. Any other suggestions?

It is worth it...

Yesterday after our shower, Kate was bundled up in her hooded towel, and looked at me funny. She pointed to a stretch mark on my stomach and we had this conversation:

Kate: "Mommy, what is that?"
Me: "That is a stretch mark I got when you were a baby inside my tummy"
Kate: "I stretched you Mommy?"
Me: "Yes, when you were in my tummy before you were born"
Kate (with a genuinely concerned, compassionate look on her face): "Oh Mommy, I'm sorry I stretched you"

Ok, the darn stretch marks were worth it.
