Halloween 2010

Kate decided this year that she didn't want to wear the Fancy Nancy outfit I made, she didn't want to wear the tutu I made and she didn't want to wear the Cinderella dress I made. No. She wanted to wear the hand-me down dress up Snow White dress. Ok. Fine. Sigh.

She did want to wear Nana's lipstick

And she spent the rest of the night with her lips in this position.

Here she is ready for the night with Irene!

1st dentist visit

Here is Kate at her first trip to see the dentist (me). She was so well behaved! (better than some of my adult patients!!) She sat in my chair nicely and opened so I could have a look and do a mini-cleaning.

Texas!

I think most people have heard by now, but it is official- we are moving to Texas! Loren and I both got jobs in Texas. Loren's starts tomorrow! What a busy Fall. My thesis defense is 1 week from today and that is my LAST requirement for Perio. I am seeing patients until Thanksgiving, but everything else will be checked off. I actually have a really heavy patient load for the next few weeks, but then I'm done. Phew.

Debbie is coming tomorrow and will stay for a few weeks and then is taking Kate back to CO with her. I'll have 2 weeks to myself. Really weird. I'm going to finally use that massage gift certificate I've had in my coupon pile.

Fancy Nancy Bday Party

We had a great time at Kate's 3rd birthday party. She chose a Fancy Nancy theme, and was overjoyed!

A HUGE thank you to Lindsey who did photos for us!! You can find her at http://www.lb3photo.blogspot.com/

Fall sewing with a plan- FINISHED!!

Yep, can you believe it? I actually did do all that sewing. Well, I didn't get to the jacket, but I got all the rest of it done!! I made a few changes to the plan as I went along. I'm so happy with how everything turned out!

I got to practice sewing with knits, which I really hadn't done much before, and I have decided they are much easier than wovens AND Kate likes to wear them much more. I also mastered the "reverse applique" which is much easier than a regular applique.

When I'd finish an item, I'd ask Kate for her opinion and she'd always say "cute, mom". I tried to incorporate things I thought she would like--the Fancy Nancy applique, ballerina buttons and little heart appliques. They worked ;)

This skirt is so twirley, it is really a neat and super easy pattern!! Just 5 spirals...

So now the sewing machine is packed up for a while--at least until after our house sells. We have our first showing tomorrow!!

Many thanks to my friend Janise for helpin us to stage the house and "shop" at her house!

Happy 3rd Birthday Kate!

It sounds so cliche, but I can't believe my baby is 3 years old today! She is so beautiful and such a wonderful little girl. As I was putting her to bed tonight I was thinking about how I was in labor 3 years ago at that same time. I could never have imagined the amazing little sweet voice that said "I love you Mommy" as I put her to bed. I am so blessed and so pleased to get to be her mom!

9/7/07 Birthday!
